Letter from the President...

Is summer a good time for job hunting and hiring? Yes! While it is true that more people will be on vacation, and the process may take a little longer, we are seeing plenty of offers getting made and accepted in June and July.

Consider this: if fewer people are applying for jobs, then those who do will stand out. As a recruiter, a smaller number of resumes in my inbox means I have more time to peruse them and conduct in-depth interviews. The same is true for hiring managers. A candidate whose resume does not clearly highlight the relevant skills for a job may get a call in the summer rather than a rejection.

So if you’re motivated to explore career opportunities, now may be the best time. And if you’re a manager thinking about hiring in the fall, don’t wait to begin the process.

As for me, it’s a staycation this summer on Lake Chautauqua in my 1950 Chris Craft Sportsman, so I’m available most any time.

Keep in touch,
Lynn
